While we can work with HD-TVI and coaxial systems, we prefer to work with network- power over Ethernet (POE) cameras due to their flexibility and the fact that only one cable is needed for the power and video stream. It also allows the Network Video Recorder to be positioned in a secure location such as a server room.

With a coaxial cable system, the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) must be in the location where the cables from the cameras have been installed and each camera needs a power source.
